September 2011 Knives


This picture shows the forging process from the allen wrench, billet, to the completed knife.
Size reference with a penny.

The blade of the miniature knife measures 1.75 inches.
The overall length of the knife is 2.75 inches.

This is the smallest miniature knife I've made to date.
This is the backside of the mini knife and leather sheath.

The backside of the sheath is stamped with my logo N8.

The sheath was hand tooled, stamped, filed, dyed, and sealed.

 Another handmade miniature knife.
The sheath is made of 5-6 ounce leather,tooled, moulded, hand stitched, and dyed.


The blade measures 2.25 inches long, 4.5 inches over all, and is made of tool steel forged from an allen wrench.
The guard is made of brass and has a black corian spacer with stag handle. The stag handle is flared.





Large overall 9.75 inches hunting, skinning knife forged from L-6.

The blade length is just over 5.25 inches.


The blade has filework done in a vine pattern.
The knife features white tail stag handle, white flake pattern corian, brass guard and butt cap.


The sheath is made of heavy 10-12 ounce leather. It was tooled, shaped, molded, dyed, and sealed.
The button is a stag crown end with a leather thong.






Another handmade hunting knife.
The handmade forged knife was made of 5160 and featured a stag handle, white corian spacers, rosewood spacer, and a brass guard.

  1. Wow there are beautiful. Im 15 years old and have been making minature knives out of 16 Commons (nails). No where close to the quality of yours though. Using Alan Wrenches is brilliant! Nails are mild steel and mine wont hold an edge but Alan wrenches are tool steel right? I could send you the pictures of what I have made if you like but they're embarrassingly subpar to yours. To date ive made three swords (all awful i made them when I was younger) two knives (nails), one cleaver (hot rolled welding stock), two axes, one fireman and one standard (also hot rolled welding stock). I was looking for inspiration for the next tool/knife i made when i stumbled across this. Excellent work!
